Amy became affiliated with Northcutt Reporting Service in July of 2018 after retiring from her position as an Official Court Reporter with the Second Judicial Circuit of Illinois with 34 years of experience. She is a graduate of the court reporting program at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
Amy is past President of the Illinois Court Reporters Association and is past Chairperson of the Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporters Board. She is an active member of the Illinois Court Reporters Association as well as the National Court Reporters Association. Within the national organization, she holds the credentials of Registered Professional Reporter, Registered Diplomat Reporter and Certified Realtime Reporter, and she is certified in the states of Illinois, Arizona, and Idaho.
While working in circuit court, Amy reported numerous murder trials and other felony trials. She also reported a wide range of civil trials, including medical malpractice, products liability and contract law. She provided realtime for her judge and daily rough draft transcripts for attorneys in a fraudulent misrepresentation and concealment jury trial spanning eight days and resulting in a $59-million verdict.
As a freelance reporter, in addition to depositions, Amy has reported grand jury proceedings and proceedings/trials in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. She also provides remote court reporting services for other states.
Amy resides in Benton, Illinois.
